On Saturday, 21st November, an ambrose was played. Drawn partners, Caroline Harnett and Brian Ford, combined with a purpose and won the Presentation Day event for mixed pairs with a nett 56.8.
Ted Howard and Steve Rogal were equally impressive winning the men's section with a nett 56.6.

strong field of 74 golfers from Canterbury and Marlborough enjoyed a fine Sunday for the Kaikoura Men's Open. Bruce Barwick took out the Open and Deardon Cup with rounds of 74 and 73. It was a popular win for an in form player, who made very few mistakes on a golf course that had been groomed magnificently in recent weeks. The event was generously sponsored by Hunting and Fishing Kaikoura.

On Sunday the Kaikoura Golf Club hosted a regional competition that has been going since 1927. The stroke round was contested by individual players and teams from North Canterbury golf clubs. Fourteen teams and over sixty players partcipated in strong, northerly wind conditions.
A highlight was Bob Graham's 66 nett round, which won the Rutherford Cup and contributed to his Kaikoura team's Berry Shield win.

On Saturday 5th September, 18 mixed pairs competed in the Kaikoura Golf Club's Spring Tournament. The game was a Canadian Foursome played on a beautiful day and over 27 holes. Phillipa Holstein and Rodney Goodman carded an impressive nett 102.2 and won the Taylor Rosebowl Cup. Less than 3 shots covered the top five prize winners.

On Sunday, 30th August, the Barron Pot was contested by 45 players in windy conditions. Riki Sinclair won the Pot with a nett 68, on count back from Rodney Goodman and Phil Richardson. Riki had a very impressive 37 gross for the back nine holes, but blew out to 47 on the front nine. As Sean Fitzpatrick used to say, "a game of two halves!"

There was competition over three days from Wednesday 29th April to Friday 1st May, with entry restricted to players 45 years and over. Visitors came from all over the South Island and over 70 players took to the course on the first day.
